Assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices.
Assistive Technology is an umbrella term that includes assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities and also includes the process used in selecting, locating, and using them.
Launchpad uses these technologies with students as it promotes greater independence by enabling individuals to perform tasks that they were formerly unable to accomplish, develops communication and enhances learning experiences.
The latest innovative technologies.
Our Learning Support Manager and teams constantly researches the latest innovative technologies and works within the wider community and team to implement these strategies with our students in order to promote independence and develop communication. Learners who require assistive technology or adapted aids, will have the opportunity to discuss their specific needs with staff and explore the various options and solutions open to them to help address them. This can be discussed at the pre enrolment meeting.
