Coronavirus, Rapid Testing In Schools And Colleges

The government announced changes to the start of next term for many secondary schools and colleges in that the start of term will be delayed for some students to allow schools and colleges the time and space to set up their respective approaches to the rapid testing in schools initiative.

Having reviewed the information that has been provided by the DfE and central government we have taken the decision to open school and college as normal, therefore, all students are expected to return to school or college at their usual time on Wednesday 6th January

In relation to the rapid testing in schools and colleges initiative, at this stage we have only received a broad overview of how this will work and how this will occur and will plan and implement our approach prior to students returning and by following specific guidance which will be provided in the coming days.

We will communicate with you as needed during the holidays to ensure you are kept up to date with how the school and college will proceed with the testing initiative and assure you that we will do our upmost to ensure minimum disruption to your son or daughters learning.

May we take this opportunity to wish you all and your families the very best for Christmas and New Year and thank you for your continued support of our school and college.
