Medical Support

Launchpad have trained staff who can administer Medication to students who cannot self medicate. Staff are also trained on medical interventions and procedures around the needs of individuals. These include: PEG Care, Tracheostomy care and other specialist care needs.

All medication will be administered by trained staff only.

Medicines that have been prescribed by a doctor, dentist, nurse prescriber or pharmacist prescriber may be administered providing they have been recorded on our Medication records and administration of medicine documentation. Our trained team will assist you in the process required to administer medication to learners. For more information, please contact us.

Medicines should only be taken to College when essential.

Learners who self-administer medication at the centre may store medication within a locked cabinet to safeguard other students and is coordinated by the Learning Support Manager and Medically trained staff. Students with their Parents/Carers who require medication whilst at centre can a meeting to explain the procedures for storage and administration.

Our team will ensure that any self administered medical procedures or administration of medications are monitored. Learns are supported where required. Learners who are required to leave site for medical appointments during the programme planned hours will need to ensure that the appropriate support is planned.
