A very warm welcome to our website and to Expanse Learning.
Expanse Learning Schools and Colleges are often described as inspiring places not only because of their facilities but also because of their amazing students, staff, parents, partners, and governors.
As CEO/MD of Expanse Learning (Expanse Group), I am delighted, honoured, and privileged to lead our Independent Special School and Specialist Further Education colleges community.
I believe in inclusion and equality so that every young child, young person, and adult has the best education both in and out of the classroom.
Our students often face significant challenges, so to ensure that they benefit from their education, we must aspire to be outstanding at all times.
The ethos of our schools and colleges has developed over the years since 2013 placing focus on our values and mission of “progress through education and care” always putting our students at its heart. Our aspiration is that all our pupils and students become successful, independent young people who can achieve their aspirations and life goals. We believe in nurturing talent, enriching lives, and supporting our community to achieving the very best outcomes for all our community. It’s why we do, what we do!
We want our students to be happy at school and college and to ensure that this is reflected through their excellent attendance and commitment to learning every day. We have the highest expectations for all our learning community and welcome the support of our parents, partners, employers, stakeholders, and wider supporters; as together we make a powerful team!!!
Our school and college curriculums’ intent is to provide every student with the opportunity to succeed academically, socially, in their independence and personal health and wellbeing. We want our students to be the best and to achieve their potential as they progress into adulthood.
Outside of school and college life we believe in enrichment because it develops excellent relationships with students, and it broadens horizons. We aim to give our students unique and sometimes life-changing experiences. Many of our enrichment activities are core to our curriculum, for example our outdoor education residential opportunities with Calvert Trust whilst others, like our trips and visits, provide students with the chance to travel.
Expanse Learning is a Section 41 approved School and college by the UK Governments Secretary of State. We are active members of Natspec and NASS and look forward to working collaboratively with the other excellent Special Schools and Specialist Further Education Colleges across the UK.
