Behaviours at School

At Expanse Learning, we expect high standards of behaviour and work at all times. We take a positive approach to discipline, and in matters of behaviour, encourage students to show consideration and care for people and property. Sensible behaviour and active participation in the maintenance of high standards are our aims.

We expect students to be eager to learn, prompt, neat in appearance, courteous and considerate; to move sensibly and with a purpose in the school; and to bring nothing into school that could be harmful to themselves or others. Self-discipline is encouraged and good behaviour rewarded.

Mobile phones are not allowed in school. Pupils can bring them to school but must hand them into reception at the start of the school day.

Vapes and E-cigarettes are not allowed in school. Any pupil found in possession of these items will be subject to suitable sanctions as part of our behaviour policy. These items will not be returned once confiscated and will be appropriately disposed of.

Discipline is considered a matter for joint co-operation between the school and home, thus ensuring consistency of action.

We expect parents, carers and guardians to support the school in upholding the expected standards of behaviour. The Policy section on the website contains a range of policies that are designed to support and improve students overall behaviour.
